cardio vascular system - medical conditions and educationMedical Conditions and Education on how they work is important for Clients and Potential Clients to understand why effective soft tissue therapy can help their condition(s).

The more knowledge Clients have, the better prepared they are to select the most appropriate treatment strategy and methodologies. Educated Clients are also more likely to more fully participate in their therapy, and get improved results as a result.

Medical Conditions and Education is also important for therapists and physicians, allowing their evaluation & treatment strategies to be far more effective for the results of their Clients and Patients.

Too many physicians and therapists do not thoroughly understand, if at all, the nature of C.E.M.&.N.T. and the many conditions and symptoms it can cause or have an affect on. Excess muscle tension an have a profound affect on many structures and function of the human bodymind.

Discovering where the most hyper-tense (excessively tight) muscles are, and effectively reducing those tension, can provide profound levels of relief for many clients. Although we are often amazed by how many conditions excess muscle tension is involved in never, we are never surprised.

Even if C.E.M.&.N.T. is not the cause of an issue, it often exacerbates the problem, or makes it more difficult to resolve.

Medical Conditions and Education and Their Relation to C.E.M.&.N.T.

medical conditions and educationThe Primary Focus of the DSL Method (DSL Edgework & Let-Go Yoga) is the discovery and resolution of Chronic, Excess Muscle & Nerve Tension & Stress or C.E.M.&.N.T. for short.

This term — C.E.M.&.N.T. — evolved over the years while searching for terminology precise enough to be clear on what the causes of a Clients’ particular problems are (and within the range of what the DSL Method can work with), yet simple enough language that anyone can understand the meaning. …

Meaning, no medical “jargon” to confuse the Client or Potential Client, all too common in health care.

MASSAGE SCHOOLS TEACHING THE DSL METHOD

Advanced School of Bodywork - classroom setting - medical conditions and education

Kyle C. Wright Instructing Students in Muscle Therapy

Currently, we are only familiar with one group of schools, The Schools of Advanced Bodywork, who teach the fundamentals of the DSL Method.

The school’s founder, Mr. Kyle C. Wright, learned the original, basic principles of the DSL Method in 1993, and immediately reformulated his school curriculum at the Southeastern Schools of Neuromuscular & Massage Therapy to embrace The DSL Method as among their fundamental principles. This began at the original school in Jacksonville, Florida, then expanded to four more schools in the Carolinas.

Therefore, prior to 2007, the five Southeastern Schools taught the DSL Method to approximately 12,000 students from 1993 to 2007. The schools were then sold to a corporate educational company, and they significantly modified their programs to a more generic curriculum. They no longer have the focus of advanced clinical and medical massage and bodywork therapy, abandoned in 2007 after purchasing the five schools from Mr. Wright, and as originally taught by Kyle and his staff.
